Since 2004, one of the main objectives of the Ministry of Education
(MOE) in Taiwan has been to broaden our global outlook. In
2009, therefore, the Secondary School Exchange International
(SSEI) Program was launched as part of our policy for
"Expanding Our Worldwide Vision".
This program, aimed at developing an international approach
to secondary school education, was funded by MOE with the
singular purpose of diversifying learning opportunities, by
doing so, helping our young people cross the boundaries of
space and time to grasp the role of Taiwan on both the
Asia-Pacific and world stages, as well as providing a means
of contributing to the advancement of human endeavor.

SSEI has been established to provide a mutually beneficial (win-win)
international learning environment. It not only allows
Taiwan students the opportunity of an international
educational experience, but also invites students from all
over the world to come into contact with life and culture in
Taiwan. In the global village of the 21st century, with its
increasing trend towards international competitiveness, this
program seeks to cultivate multi-cultural, multi-national
thinking and interaction between Taiwan secondary schools
and their partner schools across the world. |
