SSEI consists of two programs-Visiting
Taiwan: international students coming into Taiwan to study;
and, Visit tours from Taiwan: students from Taiwan going to study abroad.
Visiting Taiwan program: We hope to invite secondary school students from other
countries to
come and visit/study in Taiwan. We also seek to invite international
undergraduate and graduate
students to make Taiwan a part of their study destination.
Visit tours from Taiwan program: We invite secondary schools and vocational
training organizations
from other countries to partner with our secondary schools in providing
opportunities for study tours
and skills internship programs.

Participants: Taiwan's secondary schools invite
students, ages 15-18, from overseas senior high schools
to visit and study in Taiwan. |

Things we
do: We offer a combination of workshops, classroom and
online learning, Chinese language and cultural
experiences, and skills exchanges. |

3. |
Study time:
A short-term visit is approximately two weeks long, with
longer-term visits ranging from one semester to an
academic year. |

Expenses: As
the purpose of this program is for education and
learning only, overseas
participants need pay for necessary costs-such as
airfare, transportation in/around Taiwan, food and
accommodation expenses, etc. Taiwan secondary schools
will assist in making the most appropriate arrangements. |

Volunteer program |

1. |
Participants: Overseas students from undergraduate or
graduate levels; and international students studying at
undergraduate or graduate levels in Taiwan. |
|

2. |
Volunteer
Work: At the heart of this education-related program
lies opportunities for involvement in such things as
teacher/tutor assistance, helping with student
counseling and student affairs, library service, leading
student clubs, leading workshops, etc. in secondary
schools. |

3. |
Expenses:
The purpose of coming to Taiwan for volunteer work and
learning is educational internship. Therefore, no fees
are required.
Taiwan's secondary schools will provide accommodation,
and transportation and food expenses will be subsidized
by the respective school. However, participants will be
required to pay their own round trip airfare. |

|
|
1. |
Participants: We
invite overseas secondary schools to partner with us
in providing host programs. |

2. |
Program content:
The focus will be on language, culture, history, geography,
civil studies, and computer science. Students will preferably be
allocated as audit (sit-in). However, specialized courses
may also be arranged. |

|
3. |
Expenses: As the
program aims at a mutually beneficial partnership, the host
(receiving) school is considered best able to make the most
suitable arrangements. However, where this is not feasible,
Taiwan students may be required to pay for their airfare, local
transportation, food and accommodation costs, and any
courses studied. |

Skills internship tours
from Taiwan |

1. |
Participants: We
invite overseas secondary schools and above, including
vocational training organizations, to partner with us in
providing our secondary school students with opportunities
to learn skills and have internship experiences. |

2. |
Program content:
Includes professional foreign languages, work ethics and
culture, career opportunities information and requirements,
enterprise internships, and visits. |
|
|
3. |
Expenses: As the
program aims at a mutually beneficial partnership, the host
(receiving) school or institution is considered best able to
make the most suitable arrangements.
However, when this is not feasible, Taiwan students may be
required to pay their own airfare, local transportation,
food and accommodation costs, and any courses studied. |
